Liberia 885. By letter dated 5 August 2004, the Special Rapporteur notified the Government that he had received allegations concerning Bernard Warity, Deputy Information Minister for Administration in the National Transitional Government of Liberia. According to the allegations received, at 6 p.m. on 4 July 2004, a traffic accident occurred between his car and the jeep of the Police Director. Bernard Warity was dragged out of his car and beaten by a group of police officers, allegedly on the orders of the Police Director. Bernard Warity sustained bruises on his body and was treated at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Monrovia.
