Human rights in the Americas are protected by an international system based on regional human rights instruments, such as the OAS Charter and the American Convention on Human Rights. The Inter-American Commission and Court of Human Rights have been given the responsibility to protect human rights in the region. In this page you can find information about the activities of these bodies and the problems with the system.
