Disappearances, torture, police abuse... these are too common practices in the nations of South Asia. Along with some of the oldest civilizations in the world, South Asia includes some of its poorest countries. Civil war, ethnic tension, religious persecution and terrorism are but some of the ailements of this region, as are the abuse of government power, censorship, and human rights violations.
