Rosneft CEO says he is not going to challenge US sanctions in court
Igor Sechin, the CEO of Russia's oil major Rosneft, said on Friday he did not plan to challenge in court US sanctions against himself.
"It is necessary to work and build partner relations," he told journalists on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
According to earlier reports, following Crimea's accession to Russia after the March 2014 referendum, the United States imposed economic sanctions against a number of Russian state officials, businessmen and companies. Sechin's name was also put on that blacklist. The Russian Foreign Ministry said these sanctions were counterproductive.
Meanwhile, the United States is looking at imposing broader sanctions against entire sectors of the Russian economy, including the energy sector.
