Russia's Lavrov, US Kerry meeting in Paris over Ukrainian crisis
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry are having a meeting in Paris as part of an agreement reached by the Russian and U.S. presidents to work out parameters of joint efforts to find a way out of the political crisis in Ukraine.
After Lavrov welcomed Kerry at the entrance to the residence of the Russian ambassador in Paris, the two foreign ministers began their tete-a-tete talks.
On Saturday, March 29, Lavrov and Kerry had a telephone conversation to discuss the crisis in Ukraine and consider a schedule of future contacts on the issue.
In his interview with Sergei Brilev's Vesti v Subbotu (News on Saturday) television programme, Lavrov said that Russia had "absolutely no intention or interest to cross the border with Ukraine."
Earlier on Sunday, the U.S. Secretary of State had talks with France's Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.
The Russian foreign minister is expected to meet with his French counterpart in the first half of the day on Monday.
