Moscow condemns Lithuania's provocative actions related to arms supplies to Kiev
Moscow resolutely condemns Lithuania's weapons supplies to Kiev as provocative actions undermining peace settlement in south-eastern Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Tuesday, commenting on pronouncements by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius.
"Vilnius' openly militarist course concerning Ukraine's domestic conflict is obvious for all," the Russian diplomat noted. "Now, the Lithuanian leadership has openly acknowledged that fact of military support to the 'party of war' in Kiev, which inevitably arouses great concern."
"It looks absolutely logic that Linas Linkevicius chose the time to make his statement on the very eve of the Normandy format meeting on February 12," he said. "It looked very much like an attempt to hinder the talks that required so vigorous effort to prepare."
Russia "resolutely condemns such provocative actions of Lithuania's official authorities that cause harm to the long-suffering Ukrainian people and undermine efforts of Russia, representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to switch the armed confrontation in southeastern Ukraine onto peace settlement track."
