Both authorities and opposition to blame for bloodshed in Ukraine - Lithuanian president
The authorities and the opposition must share responsibility for the deaths caused by riots in Kiev, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite said on Wednesday.
"There is no justification for what is happening in Ukraine. It has now assumed a criminal nature. And this [definition] is applicable to both sides - to the authorities and to the opposition," she said. Representatives of the opposition "provoke aggressive actions that caused deathtoll," she said. "Both parties [to the conflict] deserve condemnation," she stressed.
Grybauskaite holds that the international community now has "serious sanctions against entire Ukraine" on the agenda . "Unless violence and use of force are stopped, there will be no support either for the authorities or for the opposition that permit such actions," the president said.
