Crimean authorities seek to maintain cooperation with Crimean Tatar People Mejlis
Crimea's authorities seek to maintain cooperation with the Mejlis (Parliament) of the Crimean Tatar People, Crimean First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Temirgaliyev said on Monday.
"Leaders of Crimean Tatars are offered several key positions in the Council of Ministers and the Supreme Council (posts of vice-premiers, ministers and deputies minister in seven ministries). They are also proposed to provide financial support to a program for resettling and accommodating deportees," Temirgaliyev said.
"The dialogue is continued. We're planning to supply all necessary things to areas, which are inhabited by Crimean Tatars, roads, gas and water," the Crimean first vice-premier said.
About 290,000 Crimean Tatars (14% of the population) live now in Crimea, he added.
