Moscow hands note to Ukraine’s charge d’affaires concerning Kerch Strait incident
Ukraine’s Charge d'Affaires Ruslan Nimchinsky has been handed a note of protest against Kiev’s provocation in the Kerch Strait, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
"On November 26, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Ukraine’s Charge d’Affaires to Moscow Ruslal Nimchinsky, who was handed a note of protest against the November 25 incident, when Ukrainian navy ships had violated rules for the peaceful passage of ships travelling to the Black Sea through Russia’s territorial sea," the statement reads. "Nimchinsky’s attention was drawn to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement issued on November 26 and a note was also handed to him," the ministry added.
According to the statement, Russia stressed that "Ukraine is solely responsible for any negative developments that may take place after Kiev created a conflict situation in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea area.".
