Ukraine's Rada decriminalizes clause under which Timoshenko was sentenced


Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, has voted in favor of decriminalizing a clause of the Criminal Code, under which the former prime minister of the country, Yulia Timoshenko was sentenced to seven years in jail.

A total of 310 MPs voted in favor of the decision.

Earlier, the national parliament dismissed Vitaly Zakharchenko from the post of Interior Minister. A total of 332 MPs voted in favor of his dismissal.

It was reported that Verkhovna Rada voted for a release of individuals detained during actions of protest in different parts of the country.

A total of 372 MPs voted for adoption of a law on inadmissibility of persecution and punishment of citizens in connection with the events that took place during peaceful actions.
