Kiev stops water supplies to Lugansk - company
At night on March 11, Kiev stopped water supplies to the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) from the Western water purification plant, which is in the territory controlled by Kiev, press service of the Luganskvoda Company said on Saturday.
"At three at night, without any official notifications, water supplies from the Western plant in Ukrainian territory were stopped towards Pervomaisk, Stakhanov, Kirovsk, Byrank, Alchevsk, Perevalsk, Krasny Lutch, Antracit," LuganskInformCenter quoted the company.
Earlier, Ukraine used to stop water supplies to LPR. On December 1, 2016, were stopped water supplies from the Petrov plant and were cut supplies from the Western plant, claiming LPR had overdue payment for consumed water. The supplies resumed on January 13 - the republic had settled all the payments. However, later on, on March 6, supplies from the Petrov plant stopped once again.
