Ukraine to hold live-fire drills with Buk-M1 missile systems near Crimea
Ukraine will hold live-fire drills with Buk-M1 antiaircraft missile systems at the Yagorlyk practice range in the Kherson Region in the country's southeast, spokesman for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Dmitry Gutsulyak said on Friday.
"About 50 tactical exercises have been planned with the command posts of brigades, regiments and basic units, almost 25 tactical drills with Buk-M1 surface-to-air missile batteries at practice ranges, and also about 35 tactical and special maneuvers with logistics teams to ensure cohesion of antiaircraft missile formations," the spokesman said.
"Units of S-300 air defense systems will take part in tactical live-fire drills during the multinational exercises Saber Guardian - 2017 at the Shabla training range in Bulgaria," Gutsulyak told a press briefing.
Also, "units armed with Buk-M1 antiaircraft missile systems will hold live-fire drills at the Yagorlyk range," the spokesman said, without specifying the date of the maneuvers.
Separate radar platoons and radio-electronic equipment teams of the Air Force will monthly perform practical maneuvers with marches and deployment to new positioning areas, he said.
"Also, some tactical and special exercises will be held for the practical launches of unmanned reconnaissance aircraft," the spokesman said.
