Kiev says Russian peacekeepers deployment to Ukraine would be direct aggression
Russia decides to deploy its peacekeepers to Ukraine, Kiev will assess this step as an act of direct armed aggression, a top official in the presidential administration said on Wednesday.
"What has been stationed near the border for more than five months can hardly be called a peacekeeping contingent. So it will be regarded as direct aggression," Gennady Zubkov, first deputy chief of staff in the presidential administration, told a news briefing.
He expressed confidence that "the international community will not by any means approve of such actions on the part of Russia".
