Russia sends to Kiev note about humanitarian aid to Ukraine's eastern regions
Russia has sent a note to Kiev about its plans to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine's eastern regions.
The note says that having received numerous requests from residents of Donetsk and Luhansk about urgent humanitarian aid, the Russian side organized a motor convoy of the Russian emergency ministry to deliver 60 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including foodstuffs and personal hygiene means, to these regions, the Russian foreign ministry said on Friday. The trucks are planned to be sent to Luhansk and Donetsk, and, possibly, to other Ukrainian regions that give shelter to refugees.
The note also expressed the hope that humanitarian aid will relieve the situation residents of these regions and refugees are in and will help to reduce the number of the latter.
The Russian foreign ministry asked the Ukrainian ministry of foreign affairs to help carry out this humanitarian action and establish the route for the humanitarian convoy across the Ukrainian territory.
