Around 12,000 Russians not admitted to Ukrainian territory in recent months
Around 12,000 Russian citizens have been denied permission to cross into the territory of Ukraine in recent months. Border control in all sections of Ukraine's state border with Russia has been reinforced, the Ukrainian border guard service said in a statement.
It cited "possible involvement in extremist activities" as one of the reasons why the Russian citizens had not been admitted. Some of them had prohibited things in their luggage, such as medications, newspapers, booklets in Russian and even shoes in "military" style found during border guard control checks, the Ukrainian side said.
All the Russian printed editions are regarded by the Ukrainian competent bodies as "propagandist literature".
