Russian Prosecutor's Office demands to block Ukrainian nationalists in social networks
Russian Prosecutor's General Office has appealed to the Federal Service for Supervision of Legislature in mass media (Roskomnadzor), demanding to block copies of Ukrainian nationalists' statements possibly circulated on the Internet.
Earlier, Roskomnadzor had blocked access to 13 communities of Ukrainian nationalist organizations on VK.com online social network. "These communities advocated activities of Ukrainian nationalist groups and directly provoked the Russian people to stage acts of terrorism and participate in unauthorized mass rallies, including in Moscow," the Prosecutor's General Office said.
The above mentioned provocative entries were put down in a single register of banned information with subsequent notification of the administration of the social website. After the illegal information had been deleted from the online resource its corresponding analogues were crossed out from the single register, the Prosecutor's Office explained.
"The ban applies to copies of forbidden information and their 'mirrored' presentation at any other addresses on the Internet," it said.
