Number of Donbass and Ukrainian evacuees to Russia surpasses 550,000 -- source

The number of citizens arriving in Russia from the territory of Ukraine, DPR and LPR, exceeded 548,000 people, increasing by 18,700 people in a day, law enforcement agencies told TASS on Friday.

"As of the past 24 hours, 18,700 Donbass and Ukraine evacuees crossed the Russian border. Overall, more than 548,000 people, including over 110,000 children, arrived in Russia," the source said.

According to him, among those who fled to Russia, nearly 161,000 are Russian citizens, almost 313,000 are DPR and LPR citizens, while the other 74,000 are citizens of Ukraine and other countries.

Almost 26,000 people are now housed in the temporary shelters in 37 regions of Russia.
