Ukraine's MPs endorse resolution on 'repelling Russian armed aggression'
Ukraine's parliament adopted a resolution on Tuesday "on rebuffing Russia's armed aggression and overcoming its aftermath," although Moscow officially denies such Kiev's claims.
A total of 259 MPs voted in favor of the respective decision, above the required minimum of 226 votes.
An explanatory note says the bill is aimed at "creating legal grounds for submitting a consolidated claim to the Russian Federation in connection with the armed aggression against Ukraine."
The Ukrainian lawmakers demand that Russia should immediately release all the prisoners of war and pull out all the Russian armed units from Ukraine's territory, as well as implement the Minsk agreements regarding the full restoration of control over the state border on the part of Ukraine.
The document also calls on Moscow to immediately return Crimea to Ukraine and also stop sending humanitarian convoys for Donbas citizens via the Ukrainian state border.
Moscow has repeatedly stated that no one has yet provided any real proof of the presence of Russian forces in Ukraine, although the Russian-Ukrainian border is under the watchful eye of Western secret services.
In turn, the Russian diplomats constantly ask their Western colleagues if there are any legal grounds allowing foreign mercenaries to fight along the regular troops in eastern Ukraine.
