Russian sanctions in line with WTO rules -- Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday that Russian sanctions imposed against EU were in line with the WTO rules and had been imposed for national security reasons.
"Countries that impose sanctions against Russia can hardly be called good partners," the minister said.
Kiev's counter-terrorism operation in Ukraine creates the impression that its main purpose is to force the Russians out, Lavrov noted.
All possible pretexts for not providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine have been removed, and all details have been agreed with Kiev, the foreign minister added. Lavrov said he was hopeful that Western partners would not slow down the preparation of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. In his opinion, Western leaders' reluctance to see the need for humanitarian assistance to Ukraine is "a flagrant manifestation of cynicism".
