Moscow takes into account Lithuanian president's anti-Russia statements -- diplomat

Russia will take into account the recent statements by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite in developing relations with this country, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vassily Nebenzya said on Monday.

Grybauskaite allowed herself non-diplomatic statements. "She had to understand that such statements can have an impact on our cooperation," he said.

Russia's relations with Lithuania were more developed than with other Baltic partners. "Lithuania depends on us in no small measure. Of course, the statements that Mrs. Grybauskaite allowed herself will not facilitate the development of cooperation. We pointed to this and we took it into account," Nebenzya said.

On November 20, Grybaiskaite made anti-Russian statements in an interview with a local radio station.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said, "On November 20, President Dalia Grybaiskaite belched out a new set of rude verbal assaults on Russia in an interview with a local radio station." "She went as far as to label Russia as a terrorist state in the context of Ukrainian events," he said.
