State Duma speaker: Russia, Iran have similar stances on most international issues
Russia and Iran hold similar positions on most international issues, Chairman of the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) Sergey Naryshkin said during a meeting with speaker of Iran's Majlis (parliament) Ali Larijani.
"Iran is our close and reliable partner in the region. We have similar or identical stances on most issues on the international agenda," he said.
"We appreciate the intensive political dialogue, cooperation in various areas, including in the military-technical sphere. We recognize Iran's big contribution to the fight against international terrorism," Naryshkin said.
