Putin: Advanced Research Fund projects should lay basis for Russia's armament system
Russia's Advanced Research Fund projects should serve as the basis for the domestic armament system, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Military and Industrial Commission on Tuesday.
"It is obvious that the fund's projects are intended to play a crucial role in the development of key new-generation weapons, military and special hardware. They should serve as the basis for the Russian armament system in 2025-2030," Putin said.
Some of the projects being implemented by the Advanced Research Fund have no analogs in the world, the Russian president said.
"Innovation technologies that are offered are virtually ready for large-scale implementation, in particular, in various economic sectors and in the production of civil items," the head of the Russian state said.
According to Putin, the fund has approved several dozen of projects, with seven of them already completed.
As the Russian president said, some projects incorporate breakthrough technologies and advanced efficient solutions, "which has always been typical of our arms producers."
Putin also said that the fund's projects should fully meet requirements forming the basis of the state armament program.
"In this context, the fund needs to intensify work in key spheres," the Russian head of state said.
