Units of Russian Aerospace Forces put on full combat readiness as part of inspection
Branches and units of the Russia Aerospace Forces have been put on full combat alert as part of a snap inspection of combat readiness of the troops reporting to the Central Military District, the press service of the Defence Ministry said.
"Air force units of the Aerospace Forces component parts are taking steps presupposed by the Full Combat Readiness status as part of a snap inspection of the Central Military District," a spokesman for the ministry said.
Specifically, the aircraft and equipment of airlifting, tactical and army aviation is getting ready for alert assignments. "Advanced teams of experts, as well as supporting engineers and technicians from the branches and units subject to inspections have left for the designated airdromes where they will do preparations for receiving the aircraft," he said.
The snap inspection of combat readiness of troops of the Central Military District is held from September 7 through to September 12. It involved Air Force, airborne and airlifting units from other military districts of the country.
All in all, engaged in the inspection are about 95,000 men and officers, about 7,000 units of technology and some 170 aircraft.
Upon completion of the inspection, Center'2015 strategic war games will begin on September 14.
