Presidential Decree No. 25, legalizing the Statutes of the Indonesian Red Cross Society and recognizing the Society as a corporate body
Considering:
that during the course of the Indonesian people's struggle for independence and sovereignty, the work of the red cross was satisfactorily performed by the Indonesian Red Cross Society, which by its statutes is, and has in reality demonstrated itself to be, a society offering voluntary assistance both to the general public and to special government bodies as meant in Article 26 of the Geneva Conventions;
Considering:
that it is only appropriate that the work of the red cross continue to be entrusted to the above-mentioned society and that the above-mentioned society be designated as the only organization to carry out the work of the red cross as meant in the Geneva Conventions in the Republic of Indonesia and be recognized as a corporate body;
Bearing in mind:
Article 5 of the Agreement on the Transitional Transfer of Sovereignty, Articles 68, 117, 118, 119, 192, and 193 ofthe Constitution of the Federal Republic of Indonesia, and the articles of the Regulation on Recognizing Associations as Corporate Bodies (Regulation No. 1870 of 64)
RESOLVES:
To legalize the Statutes of the following and to recognize the following as a corporate body:
"INDONESIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY"
To designate "the Indonesian Red Cross Society" as the only organization to carry out the work of the red cross as meant in the Geneva Conventions (1864, 1906, 1929, 1949) in the Federal Republic of Indonesia.
