DUTY TO COMPENSATE
Costs of presenting evidence paid from State funds as notified:
- to witnesses called by the prosecution, EUR 23,254.16 in travel expenses, EUR 700 in accommodation expenses and EUR 460 in meal expenses, coming to a total of EUR 27,714.16, which sum in light of Bazaramba's financial circumstances shall be borne by the State pursuant to Chapter 9:1 of the Criminal Procedure Act.
- to witnesses called by the defence, EUR 21,809.25 in travel expenses, EUR 16,492.41 in accommodation expenses (including expenses of interpreter Esdras Ntakirutimana and assistants in Dar es Salaam), EUR 13,580 in per diems and compensation for lost income, EUR 951.84 in clothing expenses, coming to a total of EUR 52,833.50, which sums pursuant to Chapter 2:11 of the Criminal Procedure Act shall be borne by the State.
OTHER STATEMENTS
Barazamba is ordered to remain remanded. He will be sent to Vantaa prison to serve his sentence if no appeal is lodged and otherwise to be held there until the sentence is enforced or other disposition is made in the matter.
