Rosneft to present new options of cooperation with China for Putin's visit
Rosneft will present new options of cooperation with China for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China due in May, the state oil company's chief executive officer, Igor Sechin, told reporters on Friday.
On Thursday, Sechin participated in talks between Russian and Chinese leaders Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, announcing proposals for stronger cooperation. The sides discussed the implementation of agreements on Russian oil deliveries to China through the Skovorodino-Mohe stretch at the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline.
Sechin also expressed hope to expand cooperation between Rosneft and China National Petroleum Corporation in joint oil and gas projects in Eastern Siberia. Moreover, he voiced a proposal to optimize the construction of the Tianjin refinery, a joint project of Russia's Rosneft and China National Petroleum Corporation.
Rosneft CEO placed a focus on other potential areas of cooperation with Chinese partners, in particular those within the framework of the construction of a petrochemical complex in eastern Russia.
