Lavrov: Polish foreign minister's statement is blasphemous and cynical

Polish foreign minister's statement that Ukrainians liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II is blasphemous and cynical as the Red Army did it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters on Thursday.

When asked by TASS, the Russian foreign minister replied: "I cannot even comment on the Polish foreign minister's statement that Auschwitz was liberated by Ukrainians. Auschwitz was liberated by the Red Army - Russians, Ukrainians, Chechens, Georgians, Tatars were all there."

Lavrov said "it is absolutely blasphemous and cynical to try to play on certain nationalist feelings in this situation.".
