Rumsfeld foresees no further U-S military help in Haiti
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says the U-S military has no intention of stepping into the situation in Haiti.
He says the U-S military always has plans to do "everything in the world." But he adds there's no reason to believe that any plans for going into Haiti "would have to be utilized."
Rumsfeld notes that events in Haiti tend to "ebb and flow."
In his words, he hopes the situation in Haiti "will stay below a certain threshold."
However, the Congressional Black Caucus is concerned about the continuing bloody uprising against the Haitian government.
The group intends to unveil its proposal tomorrow that would call for a greater effort for free and fair elections in Haiti.
