Russia demands emergency session of UN SC
Russia sent a letter to the chairperson of the UN Security Council requesting an emergency session of the UN Security Council on Thursday evening, local time, over the situation in South Ossetia.
The letter was sent "in connection with Georgia's aggressive actions against South Ossetia, an internationally recognized party to conflict," Maria Zakharova, press secretary of the permanent Russian mission to the UN, said.
