UNSC meets for an emergency meeting on the situation in South Ossetia
Today in New York at 7:00 pm Moscow held an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, reported on-air TV channel Vesti 24's press secretary of the Russian permanent representation at the UN Maria Zakharova.
According to her, a letter signed by Russia Permanent Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin was addressed to the Chairman of the Security Council today requesting an emergency Security Council meeting.
"The meeting will take place in response to the acts of aggression by Georgia against South Ossetia," M. Zakharova added.
