Russian says ties between Syria and Russia historic
Chairman of the 'International Association for Human Dignity and Security' Valentine Varenikov on Thursday described the Syrian-Russian relations as historic and old, saying "ties are witnessing mounting development in all fields."
"Syria and Russia adopt a peaceful policy in order to unify nations, not to divide them as the US Administration does," General Varenikov said during a press conference in Moscow a week before celebrating the setting up of a statue for the Christ in Malula in Damascus countryside.
A Russian delegation headed by Mr. Varenikov will visit Syria next week to participate in the occasion.
