South Ossetia to form new government

South Ossetia will form a new government by the middle of the week, Russian Minister for regional development Dimity Kozak said on Monday with reference to the South Ossetian leadership.

The formation of the new government will enable us to begin restoration in South Ossetia in a scheduled, operational regime, Kozak said. The present municipal authorities do not ensure adequate restoration operations, Kozak noted.

Every facility will be examined, Kozak said. More than 1,000 people are taking part in the restoration. We shall considerably build up the restoration force, Kozak said at a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday.

By September 1 sixteen schools will be opened, including five schools in Tskhinvlal. Classes will be resumed in two university blocks of the South Ossetian university that were left intact after gunfire. By September 1 the two blocks will have been repaired, while instead of the ruined fist block of the university classes will be held at a secondary school, Kozak said.
