Georgia Acquires Political and Military Umbrella: Deputy Minister
Georgia acquired a "political and military umbrella", a NATO activated united radar system in Georgia, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia, Bath Kuteliya, said, commenting on an operating agreement with NATO, signed last year.
Actually the agreement on the exchange of radar data came into force on August 27. The data of Georgian radars are transferred to the command panel of NATO.
"Our radar system was sufficiently badly damaged, but operating this agreement indicates that NATO actively participates in the restoration of our air defense systems," said Kuteliya.
It should be noted that amongst the countries which are not members to NATO, this agreement acts only with regards to Austria.
