Georgia recalls diplomats from Russia
Georgia has recalled all but two of its diplomats from Moscow following Russia’s decision to recognise the country’s two separatist regions, Georgian Foreign Minister Eka Tkeshelashvili said on Wednesday, APA reports.
"We decided not to send ambassador to Russia further", Tkeshelashvili said.
Georgia recalled its ambassador to Russia in July 2008 after Russia sent fighter jets into Georgian airspace.
Russia recalled its ambassador from Georgia last September after Georgia detained five Russian officers on spying charges. Ambassador Vyacheslav Kovalenko returned to Tbilisi in January 2008.
