Georgia deliberately escalated tension in the conflict area
Members of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have issued an announcement, which says that Georgian authorities, having the sustainable technical and financial support of their patrons overseas, deliberately initiated the escalation of tension in the South Ossetia conflict zone.
The crisis in the area undermines stability in the region and puts the lives of peaceful civilians in danger.
Members of the CSTO find it especially cynical to launch a war during such a great sporting event like the 29th Summer Olympics against the calling of the UN Secretary General for a worldwide truce.
The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
