Belarusian humanitarian aid for S. Ossetia to arrive in Vladikavkaz August 18
The Belarusian humanitarian aid for S. Ossetia will arrive at the point of destination (Vladikavkaz) in the evening of August 18, BelTA was told in the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus.
As of 6h00 August 18 there were 400km left for the convoy to cover. Thus the humanitarian aid is expected to arrive in Vladikavkaz in the evening of August 18. Russia's Emergencies Ministry is making sure the humanitarian aid travels through Russia as quickly as possible. On the arrival the humanitarian aid will be handed over to the South Ossetian authorities.
The convoy consists of seven vehicles. Eighteen officials of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus are taking part in the operation. The humanitarian aid is estimated at Br449.9 million. These are tinned meat and dairy products, 10 tonnes of sugar and dried milk and also soap and half-woolen blankets. The total weight is about 63 tonnes.
